Back in September, I had just started my graduate program, had just moved, was feeling the onset of covid-fatigue, and was generally not in a great place mentally and emotionally. I was out on a walk one day and, out of nowhere, two sweet dogs came running up to me. There were no owners in sight and I couldn’t help but feel that they had sensed my emotional tumult and knew that I just needed some canine support.
Last week, I was having a similar sort of day. So, I closed my computer and went for a walk to clear my head. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, the dogs appeared again for the first time in six months. Again, I sensed that the dogs (in a very dog-like way) knew that something was wrong and that their wet noses were exactly the boost that I needed.
The past year has been immensely difficult. For me less than for many, I know, but difficult nonetheless. I feel lucky this week to be able to travel to our family’s farm in Virginia with my sister for some (hopefully) warmer weather and a change of scenery. I hope that each of you have at least a small dose of canine love, sunshine, family, or whatever it is that gives you that necessary boost as we come out of this long winter season.
In the meantime, please join me for yoga this week by accessing the registration link below. All classes are pre-recorded and all 12pm classes can be accessed from 12pm-12am as long as you sign up ahead of time.
Cheers to starting to see the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel
Hope to hug you soon xx
